Jenn and I are very excited about this event. Two wonderful days involved in utilizing fresh produce, picked and foraged from the garden exhibits to inspire great flavors onto the family table.

FARM FANTASTIC 22/23 & 24 July 2016- DESTINATION FOOD

Always a ‘fantastic’ event and showcasing local seasonal foods has become such a pleasure. We re-kindle our foodie friendships and create a 3 day food event that is well worth visiting – even if the weather isn’t always perfect.

Charity fun Day – Two Old Ducks are cooking Breakfast for Miles Fisher to enjoy his trip to NZ – representing Australia for Special Olympics

Happy to be involved as Miles is another Foodie who helps the Old Ducks @ Farm Fantastic each year

LOVE TO ADD that we have been asked to tour Italy and enjoy the regional foods BUT sadly NO this hasn’t happened to date.

The Two Old Ducks join LONGYARD Beef on the Friday nite for some fantastic BBQ. Josh is passionate about the American style BBQ and has invited the Old Ducks to cook the sides, sauces and more.

22nd and 23rd April 2016 – Wandoan Show

Our old stomping ground, and we have been invited back. We will be using the local produce to showcase some wonderful seasonal and regional foods. Looking forward to the event.

12 March 2016 – Ipswich Garden Expo

Two Old Ducks are going Back to Basics – our little passion, enjoy the simple pleasures of food. And ‘foraging for a feast’ which shouldn’t be too hard at a garden expo.

Bush Christmas, Toowoomba 6th December 2015

Took our cookbooks to the country and had a wonderful day. Always Cooking  and we shared some simple tasty recipes – great salad dressings, rolled omelettes filled with salmon and for something a little different Asian style with crab and more in our make shift kitchen surrounded by amazing art and crafts.

Berry Delicious Christmas demonstration for Good Guys at Morayfield. Cooking from our Celebrations Cookbook we created wonderful Christmas dishes to share with your family. Seared Duck breast with Cherry Sauce, individual Strawberry trifles and Cheesecake in your own little jar for your enjoyment.

Brisbane International Garden Show, Strathpine 8 & 9th October 2015

An absolute treat to spend 2 days cooking in Garden Heaven.  The variety of plants edible and not created a little temptation to us both. Creating dishes that showcased produce was our aim and being surrounded by like minded gardeners certainly enhanced the food.

An very warm welcome at Oxley and fun cooking. We created a party event with individual burgers, sponge cake with strawberries and cream, home made marshmallows  and very willing samplers to taste our take on the Birthday party

Destination Food at Farm Fantastic Expo July 24/25/26 – 2015

We are in the same venue as last year with wonderful produce to showcase  over the 3 day event. LongYard Beef shares the venue and of course brings their sausage making skill to the stage again.

Green Heart Fair Chermside  31 May 2015

Two Old Ducks will be cooking at 9-30 and 12-30 – taking the family meal to the lunch box. How to utilize the nights cooking and provide a packed lunch box for the whole family.

Kenmore Kindy – fund raiser May 13th 2015

Morning tea with the Mums & children – a late baking morning for Mothers Day. What a way to enjoy fundraising for a good cause and learn some baking tips with the Two Old Ducks. We shared our Choux pastry recipe, lemon curd and enjoyed our cooking time with the girls. Its a 2nd time with the Kenmore group – what a good idea!

Bendigo Bank Lowood – June 2014
Bendigo Bank wanted to Thank their share-holders for the support given in getting the Branch going. Two Old Ducks were asked to create a dinner with regional and seasonal produce, cook at the local Lowood school in their recently ‘Stephanie Alexander’ Kitchen Garden program kitchen.

We cooked a 4 course dinner with produce from the local surrounds along with redclaw crayfish from the Somerset Dam.

Tuckshop overhaul May 2014
The Two Old Ducks were excited to get to work with some dedicated Parents who wanted to make some changes to the school Tuckshop. While still wanted to make the tuckshop profitable it was a priority to bring nutritious food to the children. We workshopped and left a well-stocked freezer, fresh ideas and our ‘Back to Basics’ Cookbook as a reference for the volunteers.

Somerset Regional Council, Active Aging initiative March 2014
A council initiative designed for seniors over the age of 50, to help restore their love of health and fitness.

Two Old Ducks kick-started the program with a 2 hour cooking demonstration showing that Cooking for One can be rewarding and at the same time providing great nourishment for your body.

Somerset Council introduced Somerset Conversations February 2014A Somerset Regional Library initiative and Two Old Ducks held an interactive morning workshop. This workshop gave people an opportunity to cook together and covered the basics of cooking healthy simple meals.

Kilcoy Cancer Group – High Tea Fundraiser November 2013

Shared the morning with a group of like-minded women who got to together to fund rains for Kilcoy Cancer Group. Two Old Ducks whipped up some savoury delights from the Back to Basics Cookbook
